Fernvale is located in the Brisbane Valley and is part of the Somerset Regional Council area situated 30km from Ipswich and 60km from Brisbane.
The newly opened Fernvale Village Shopping Centre has a full line Woolworths supermarket, and a selection of specialty shops and services. The Fernvale Bakery is famous for its world class pies that come in 100 different types and flavours. The township also has a butcher, bakery, hotel, petrol station, hairdresser, and small service industry centres.
The Brisbane River passes close by Fernvale and is very popular among kayaking, water sports and fishing enthusiasts. A short 5 minute drive up the road is the magnificent Wivenhoe Dam and recreation area. You’ll find beautifully manicured picnic areas and playgrounds on the banks of Wivenhoe, providing an endless array of weekend activities.
There’s no other area quite like it in the whole of South East Queensland. Fernvale is also famous for its country markets. People flock from everywhere on Sunday mornings to grab a bargain or two, sample the local produce and enjoy the fun and excitement of one of the largest markets in the region.
Fernvale is the fastest growing area in the Brisbane Valley region.
