We’ve been living in the Honeywood Estate for 3 years now – we rented at first while our home was built and we’ve been living in that for coming up on 2 years.
The community atmosphere of Fernvale and the estate was a big draw card for us. We’re looking to start our family very soon and wanted to make sure that we were somewhere that there was plenty of room for them to play and grow and also somewhere that felt safe.
My wife and I moved to the HONEYWOOD Estate in November 2010 from Logan City with the view of a temporary stay as we had work commitments locally and liked the feel of the area. There are plenty of activities to enjoy if you like the outdoors provided by the Dams, river & scenic routes with the local restaurant, pub & tavern packed every weekend with visitors. We Love our Home.
After 20+ years of living in the big smoke then travelling around Australia in a caravan, we decided it was time for a tree change. A leisurely Sunday drive brought us west to Fernvale.
When my husband and I decided to build a home we looked everywhere for a block of land only to be laughed at when I would let the real estate agent know what our budget was, “you won’t find a block of land over 400sq for under $200,000.”
We have been in the estate for over a year now and it is still growing, with pathways to parks, with swings even a dog walking area. Fernvale is a wonderful place to raise a family, with lots of parks for children to play at and beautiful scenery at the dams and waterways with the mountains in the back drop. The first time we took our family to the dam for a swim I wished I had a photographer there to take family photo’s, it is very picturesque.
Every time we spoke to people there was never bad words said, for us we were sold on our first visit and after out first meeting with Jarod we found were we wanted to build our first home.
Fernvale is a small township east of Ipswich Qld that my wife and I passed through several times while returning to Sydney. This town had such a nice feel to it that we decided it would be a great place to live in when we retire. After looking at several properties around the district we always came back to the conclusion that Fernvale was the place.
Honeywood estate is such a lovely quite place to live, the neighbours are great with a mix of retires and young families, nice semi rural views, great paved footpaths for that early morning or evening stroll, a beautiful park for the family to relax in with a dog run as well and only five minutes walk to the shopping centre, Woolworth’s are here as well.
There is a medical centre and a very efficient ambulance service as well with several paramedics’ residing in the estate, great for us older ones. Fernvale is also only six kilometers from Wivenhoe dam a great place for yachting, Bass fishing, and swimming or to just relax in the large public domain, the Brisbane River is also near by.
We are all so happy here, we just love this place.
Building our home in the Honeywood Estate is the best thing we’ve done for our family – we all love it! Everything is right at our fingertips – from Woolworths down the road to our daughters day care centre.
